DIESEL ENGINE EXHAUST PRODUCTS
Standard Exhaust Expansion Joints
American BOA exhaust expansion joints are used in a variety of applications including but not limited to: land-based, stationary reciprocating engines used for power generation; propulsion engines aboard small boats and large ships; and gas turbine generators and pumps on offshore oil platforms. BOA pioneered the development of the unique multi-ply bellows design, which has proven over the years to be highly effective in absorbing both thermal expansion and vibration in engine and compressor piping systems.
Custom Exhaust Expansion Joints

In addition to our catalog standard exhaust expansion joint products, American BOA can design and manufacture expansion joints uniquely engineered to suit your special applications. In these situations our engineers utilize the system operating conditions to develop special expansion joint assemblies that have capabilities beyond our standard products.

Engine Exhaust Manifolds and Components
American BOA engine exhaust manifolds and system components are designed to reduce engine downtime, improve engine efficiency and to provide increased engine reliability. Most manifolds are designed as modular systems connected by flanged expansion joints. The modular system provides for easy handling, easy installation and easy removal for routine engine maintenance. BOA's multiply bellows design provides maximum flexibility with minimum spring forces. The multiply bellows utilized dampens vibration, thereby lowering bolt and turbocharger stresses and minimizes system fatigue.

We are routinely involved in customer projects with the goal of decreasing cost via a more efficient system design. Our approach is to review the entire system, not just one component such as the expansion joints, and eliminate unnecessary materials with more technically advanced solutions that prove over the long term to be more cost effective. Each solution recommended is backed by detailed analysis and critical stress evaluations.
