Fabrication Technology
Bellows manufacturing comprises several operations and forming machines that are capable of forming bellows elements up to 240" ND. High precision seam welders are utilized to achieve critical longitudinal element weld seams without the use of filler metal. The seams are planished to within 10% of the parent metal thickness after welding to ensure that the fatigue life and bending stresses are not affected by the welding operation.

We routinely perform these operations on bellows materials that range in thickness from 0.006" to 0.120", and materials which vary from the basis stainless steels to Hastelloy and Titanium.

In addition to bellows forming, American BOA has the equipment necessary to manufacture the additional components required in the fabrication of expansion joints. This includes plate rolls, expanders, burning tables, and a complete machine shop.
